#3 Breckenridge, Colorado

A sunny day on the slopes in Breckenridge, Colorado is all you will ever need. Once you get passed the head pains and the nausea that comes with altitude sickness, you will see how beautiful and untouched the snow caped mountains look out your car window. As you drive through downtown Breckenridge on your way to your condo you will notice people walking on the sidewalks bundled up in sweatshirts and snow pants usually wearing hats and gloves. This is a common sight to see in Breckenridge due to the coldness of the mountains. The moment you step out of your car you will be struck by the cool fresh air that will fill your lungs with pleasure. I'm sure you are not used to the taste of clean coming from the big city. As you bunk down in your condo for the night you will be able to feel the excitement of the new day bubbling inside of you making you want to burst. The new day has finally arrived and you are dressed and ready to go. You grab your skis and head for the hills. As you reach the mountains the air begins to feel colder and begins to sting your skin that you have not covered with clothing. You find the nearest chair lift and place yourself on it. You begin to feel a sinking feeling in your stomach as the chairlift climbs higher and higher up the mountain. Once you have reached the top of the hill, it is time to head directly right back down. You begin to push yourself towards the edge and then your off! You start off slowly but as the mountain gets steeper your speed quickens. You are racing down the hill a blur of trees around you on either side. You begin to feel the stinging cold slapping you in the face as you make your way down the mountain. Your face begins to burn, but you don't mind because the thrill keeps your mind off the pain. The end comes into sight and you begin to slow yourself down by pushing the edges of your skis deep into the snow. Your skis grab hold of the packed snow and bring you to a stop. You use your polls to dig down into the snow and lunge you forward towards the chairlift. You are ready for round two.

#1 Chicken and Soccer

1. Peers:
Peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, bread and butter are perfect matches. Do you know what else is a perfect match? Chicken and Soccer. Maybe you didn't know that Chickens love to play soccer but they do. They can't get enough! Chickens are born into this world as naturally talented soccer players, if they practice they will get even better, but if they don't they usually loose their talent all together. Because chickens are all the same species they carry the same genes. Not all Chickens are the same, but every Chicken is born with the gene that makes them taste good and makes them fantastic soccer players. They are born with this gene because back in the 1970's scientists were experimenting with gene chips and the first animal to be tested with these gene chips were chickens. Scientists wanted to start slowly because they weren't sure of the effects of the chips. They decided to inject the chickens with soccer talent chips. The chips worked perfectly except that they are not permanent solutions. After this experiment the genes from the chickens were passed down generation after generation and now almost every chicken you will see can play a great game of soccer.
2. My Grandparents:
In 1970 a team of leading scientist made one of the most amazing discoveries. They had created a gene chip. A gene chip is something you inject into a brain and it will permanently distribute that gene in the brain. At first the scientists were sceptical and didn't want to try the first gene chip on a human. They decided one of the best animals to test on was a chicken because it has tough skin and can feel very little pain. Next the scientists needed to decide what kind of gene to put into the chicken. The scientists voted, and in the end came up with the decision to insert a soccer talent gene into the chickens. After they inserted the chips they found that the chips worked wonderfully on the chickens and that the chickens were great soccer players. But a couple of weeks after the experiment a few of the chickens stopped practicing and pretty soon lost all of their talent. The scientist are still working now to change the gene chip so you do not need to constantly practice the talent or gene you are given to keep it.
